Welcome to one of the most loved and renowned national park of our country- Jim Corbett National Park. Known as the first national park established, the Corbett Park is located in Ramnagar region of Kumaon. It houses a diverse range of flora and fauna for its visitors to be mesmerized by. Inaugurated in 1936, the park is spread over 520.8 km sq, and was also the first park to come under Project Tiger initiative.

Day 01) Delhi to Ramnagar

Ideally, one should leave for Ramnagar from Delhi post an early breakfast, say, around 8 am. We need to cover a distance of about 250 km in an average of 6 hours. One shall comfortably reach Ramnagar by 1 and can check-in to your booked resort. You can enjoy your delightful lunch at the resort and later, continue on the excursion planned.

The best time to visit Jim Corbett is during the November- March period as all park gates are open to the public and spotting animals is much easier. The chances of spotting a Royal Bengal Tiger in winters is much higher than in summers.

What are the means of transport to reach Ramnagar?

You can reach Jim Corbett from Delhi by road, rail, or air. 

Road- Plan your journey by road for a memorable experience with friends and family. Take NH9 out of Delhi, then shift to NE3 (Delhi-Meerut Expressway), AH2, and NH9 till Gajraula located about 130 km from Delhi. Later, opt for Gajraula-Chandpur road, Dhanaura- Pheena Link road, Noorpur-Almora road, and Noorpur-Dhampur road. Then take the NH734 towards Kalagarh/ Ramnagar Dam. Later take the Stadium road onto NH309 in Kashipur towards Ramnagar. You can opt for a mode of personal transport or opt for a taxi in Delhi to reach Ramnagar.

Rail- Book your tickets for Ramnagar Railway Station from Delhi. Three trains shall facilitate the journey from Delhi to Ramnagar-

  3. RANIKHET EXP (#15013)

Air- Good for people coming from Delhi-NCR, opt for Pant Nagar Airport as your destination. The airport is about 80 km from Ramnagar. Only Alliance Air provides for this route with a layover at Dehradun Airport. Opt for Ramnagar taxi service for your transport to and fro Pant Nagar Airport.

Girija (Garjiya) Devi- The Girija Devi temple is one of the most important temples in the Nainital district, making it one of the best places to visit in Jim Corbett region. It is one of the Shakti shrines and is dedicated to Garjiya Devi. The legend here is that the goddess is an incarnation of Goddess Parwati. The temple is located just 13 km from Corbett Park.

Jim Corbett Museum- The museum is the former reserve house of the conservationist Jim Corbett. It is one of the great places to visit in Jim Corbett region for history buffs.
