The national park is one of the most prominent parks in the country and is a must-visit destination for a majority of the people. People from across the country such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Delhi visit the national park at least once in their lives. Travelling to Ramnagar for entry can be done by rail, road, or air. You can either book your tickets for Pant Nagar Airport (from Delhi-NCR only), Jolly Grant Airport, Ramnagar railway station, or can simply book a taxi service in Delhi and neighbouring locations. 

The park runs over a distance of 520.8 km2 and is divided into six zones- Dhikala, Bijrani, Jhirna, Lohachaur, Durga Devi, and Sitabani.

1. Jungle (Jeep) safari

The #1 thing to do in Jim Corbett is to part take in jungle safari and indulge in wildlife sightseeing. Jeep safari is a great way to photograph wildlife in its truest form where you can get sightings of Black bears, Tigers, and Red Panda.

2. Evening bonfire

Evening Bonfires are generally arranged by the resorts you plan to stay with. An absolute must for any trip, bonfires at Jim Corbett should not be missed. 

3. Corbett waterfalls

The Corbett falls is a beloved spot for picnics and camping. One needs to take a short trek of 2 km from the main road to reach the falls.   

4. River rafting at Kosi

One of the adventurous things to do in Jim Corbett is taking part in the river rafting activities. Passing through the park is the river Kosi. Not for weak hearted, the Kosi River is a speedy and slightly turbulent one, and a rafting experience on the river is a must. Avoid the monsoon season as the river swells up and is inaccessible to visitors. 

5. Garjia Devi temple

The Garjiya Devi temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati’s incarnation. The temple is perched on a rock located at the riverbank of Kosi and houses deities such as Goddess Saraswati, Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesh, and Baba Bhairon. The temple is one of the most important tourist attractions here and is one of the must-visit things to do in Jim Corbett. 

6. Sunrise Point

Sunrise Point is the highest elevated point in the Park. A hilltop in the park, Sunrise Point is ideal for watching sunsets and sunrise with your loved ones. Check out the point for a tranquil and serene experience. 

7. Dhangarhi Museum

Located near the Dhangarhi gate, visiting the museum is one of the top things to do in Jim Corbett. The museum throws light on the hunting and life of Jim Corbett. You can also check out the souvenir shop which includes wooden art, handicrafts, books authored by Corbett, and caps and t-shirts. 

8. Kalagarh Tiger Reserve

Spread over 300 sq km, the reserve is said to be one of the reserves with the highest Tiger population and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. The Kalagarh Tiger Reserve is open from 15th November to 15th June. It is blessed with lush greenery and diverse fauna including sloth bear, leopard, barking deer, musk deer, and elephants. 

9. Corbett Museum

Located near Kaladhungi, the Corbett Museum is about 30 km from the National Park but should not be missed at any cost. The museum is dedicated to the conversationalist himself Jim Corbett. You can check out the personal belongings of Corbett and also check out the Corbett Falls located just 4 km from here. The place is one of the best visiting things to do in Jim Corbett for history buffs and nature lovers. 

10. Fishing

Tourists and visitors can opt for a fishing experience at the Park. With four options of Ramganga, Kosi, Mandal, and Kothari flowing through the park, you can catch fish and even cook your own meal. Please take prior permission for fishing from the authorities. 

11. Elephant Safari

Opt for one of the best things to do in Jim Corbett- Elephant safari. It is a must activity to do for kids and allows you to indulge in the greenery and beauty of the park from a height of 9-10 ft!

12. Bird watching

If you are an ardent bird watcher, then bird watching is one of the things to do in Jim Corbett. The park is home to 650 species of birds which includes migratory ones too. The park is one of the richest bird regions. And for a perfect bird watching experience, visit the Park in November- December. 

13. Trekking

Take a trek through nature’s wonder at Corbett. Mind you, trekking is not allowed in the park’s core areas but can be done in the reserve forest area and tiger reserve. The Sitabani forest reserve is home to 35 Royal Bengal tigers and visitors can also check out the Shiva temple located here. 

14. Camping
