Dehradun is one of the most sought after travel destinations in Uttarakhand and the country. Cooped between the Song and Asan rivers in the Doon valley, Dehradun can be easily accessed by visitors and tourists all around the year.

Here are 3 ways to travel to Haridwar-

1. By road

Being the capital of the state of Uttarakhand, Dehradun is bound to have good road connectivity and is easily accessible by nearby towns and cities. 

Dehradun falls on the NH 7 (old name NH 72) and NH 307 (old name NH 72A). The NH 7 connects Fazilka in Punjab to Mana in Uttarakhand. It connects Rishikesh, Devaprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Chamoli, Badrinath, and Mana to Dehradun in Uttarakhand. 

The NH 307 connects Dehradun to Saharanpur in Uttarakhand. 

Opting for car rentals from other towns such as Haridwar is a good way on how to reach Dehradun. 

2. By train

By train is another way on how one can reach Dehradun. The Dehradun Terminal Railway Station is also well connected with other states. One should ideally avail the train services if coming from outer states. Dehradun station is the last railway station on the northern line of the railway network of Northern Railways. The station has 8 tracks and 5 platforms to facilitate the tourists and passengers entering Dehradun. 

The terminal at Dehradun connects states and cities like Lucknow, Bareilly, Kota, Delhi, Jalandhar, Bhopal, Jamnagar, Jaipur, and Mangalore to Dehradun.

Dehradun is blessed with the one airbase in the state of Uttarakhand. The Dehradun Airport or Jolly Grant Airport is proudly called the Air Gateway of Garhwal. The Jolly Grant Airport is 26km from Dehradun and the distance can be covered in just 45 mins average. For a smooth transition, one can avail of the car rental options in Dehradun for transfer. 

Dehradun airport has good flight connectivity with Jaipur, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad. SpiceJet, Air IndiaGo, IndiGo, and GoFirst are operational to and from here.
