Vehicles owners can now avail Green Card for Char Dham Yatra online

The Transportation Department of Uttarakhand has started to prepare for the Chardham Yatra in full swing. Under this, the issuance of Green cards for vehicles that will be operated on the Chardham Yatra route will start from April 15. In addition to this, the various check posts on the Chardham Yatra route will become functional from May 10.

Char Dham Yatra Green Card Fees

Transportation Department of Uttarakhand will make green cards and trip cards in the ARTO office, Dehradun from 15 April for Chardham Yatra 2021. All the vehicles that are taking pilgrims for Chardham Yatra has to make both trip card and green card. Green Card is expected to cost Rs.600 for buses and Rs.400 for Taxi. These green cards can be made online too.

Green Card and Trip Card Details

The trip card will be made only after green card has been issued for the trip of a vehicle. Trip card has to be made from green card for vehicles above 10 seaters. Trip card need not to be made for local buses. Under this process, the detail of every passenger travelling in the bus will have to be maintained in an “all pilgrims data excel sheet” that is supposed to be made one day before.

Green card will be issued on some basic charges whereas the trip card will be absolutely free. This green card will be valid till 30th November. 

What is Char Dham Yatra Green Card?

To those of you who don’t know, the Green Card is a card that is issued by the Transportation Department to the vehicle drivers during the Chardham Yatra. This card is specifically issued only after conducting a check of vehicles and checking the documents of driver’s like driving license, vehicle permit, insurance, etc. After issuing this card, a driver can show their green cards on the Chardham Yatra journey.
